A solar charger is a charger that employs solar energy to provide power to a device or battery. They are usually portable.
This type of solar charger setup typically uses a smart charge controller. A series of solar cells are installed in fixed locations (ie: the roof of the house, the location of the pedestal on the ground, etc.) and can be connected to a battery bank to store energy for off-peak usage.
